Welcome to Little Oak
Everything you need for your first visit, plus our favourite resources for the early years.
Getting started
Your first visit in four steps
Book online or call
Choose a new patient well visit, or a newborn visit if your baby just came home.
Fill out forms
We text a secure link for history and consent forms. Takes about 10 minutes.
Bring the basics
Insurance card, photo ID, vaccine records and any hospital discharge papers.
Arrive 15 minutes early
Check in at the well-child entrance on the left side of the building.
New-parent resources
Helpful for the early years
The first two weeks
Expect frequent feeds, lots of diapers and a small weight dip before baby regains birth weight by about two weeks.
When to call us
Fewer than 6 wet diapers a day after day 5, yellowing skin that’s spreading, or baby is hard to wake for feeds.
Safe sleep basics
On the back, in a crib or bassinet with a firm, flat mattress and nothing else in it.
Breastfeeding support
Our lactation consultant offers in-office visits, usually within two days. Ask at any visit.
Formula questions
Most standard formulas work well. Talk to us before switching brands more than once.
Starting solids
Usually around 6 months, when baby can sit with support and shows interest in food.
Newborn sleep
14–17 hours a day in short stretches is normal. Day–night confusion usually settles by 6–8 weeks.
Building routines
A short, predictable bedtime routine — bath, book, feed, bed — helps from about 3 months.
Sleep regressions
Common around 4 and 9 months. We can help you make a plan at your next checkup.
Under 3 months
Any temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher: call us right away, day or night.
Older babies & kids
Watch how your child is acting more than the number. Call if they’re unusually sleepy, not drinking, or you’re worried.
Emergencies
Trouble breathing, a seizure, or blue lips: call 911.
General information only. Every child is different — call our nurse line with questions about your child.
